Sweetpea Market Garden is a 3 acre horticulture project producing salads, microgreens, edible flowers, seasonal veg and fruit! We grow the things we love to eat, focusing on quality, flavour and suitability to our local climate. We grow using hand tools, with a strong focus on soil health and biodiversity. As of 2024 we are certified Organic through the Soil Association. Read more about our values here.
Hi, I’m Adrienne. I set up Sweetpea Market Garden in Autumn 2021. I’ve been passionate about good food since my early 20’s, and after working as a Barista in Cambridge for several years, I set off to New Zealand on my bike and ‘wwoofed’ for community gardens, permaculture projects and market gardens. I was thrilled to take part in a traineeship at Pakaraka Permaculture, a quarter acre market garden.
Returning to the UK, I found work in Sussex, at Barcombe Nurseries in 2020. Here I learnt production and efficiency, and experienced a business that had weathered 30 years of Organic veg boxes! The following year I was maternity cover for Abby at Peapod Veg, a 130 share CSA in Hastings. I wanted to bring all of this experience and inspiration together for my community in Cambridgeshire, and here we are!
Manor Farm is a mixed arable farm that has been on a journey to introduce more regenerative farming practices. Tom has written a great article about this over at Wildeast. I found Tom through the Oxford Real Farming Conference by posting on the digital noticeboard that I was looking for land and opportunities!
